Riverside Roses, 16x20, Oil.JPG

On my vacation in France this summer, I came across this gorgeous scene walking into the little town of Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Valley. The beautiful reflections in the river of the windows in the house, the roses along the waterfront, the boat house, and the little turquoise boat moored alongside just begged to be painted. The painting is a 16x20 oil entitled, “Riverside Roses.”

About Lynda

LYNDA HARRIS graduated from NC State University with a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and has spent the last 30 years designing urban and commercial spaces, urban parks, and residential hardscapes and gardens. Although she drew with pen and rendered detailed landscape drawings and elevations with markers and pastel pencils, she never translated her talent into painting.

After retiring Lynda decided to fulfill her childhood dream and turn her talents to art. Her passion for design and gardening has led to painting with a focus on contemporary impressionist landscapes. Lynda’s love of nature and animals led her to paint birds and incorporate animals into her paintings. Capturing light with paint is an going creative challenge. Lynda’s primary media is oil.

She has a permanent exhibition at 311 Gallery, 311 W Martin St., Raleigh, NC and exhibits at the Mattie King Davis Gallery in Beaufort, NC.
